Biography and creative path

Early years

Elena Vladimirovna Tutanova was born on July 30, 1973 in Balashikha into a family of engineers. She graduated from a music school in accordion class.

While planning to enter the Institute of Light Industry, Varvara simultaneously worked as a soloist in a musical ensemble. Thanks to this experience, a month before entering the university, I prepared a program for admission to a music institution. Varvara graduated from the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music. One of the course teachers was the director of the acclaimed “The Threepenny Opera” Matvey Osherovsky.

After leaving the theater, Elena began a solo career under the pseudonym “Varvara”.

2000-2003: debut album and pop-rock experiments

In 2000, Varvara received the Grand Prix of the Kinotavr competition in the special project Kinodiva [ ] . On June 20, 2001, the singer’s debut solo album “Varvara” was released on the NOX Music label. Work on the album continued throughout 2000. Dmitry Bebenin (“Zvuki Ru”) considered that the singer “prefers to move in a more advantageous, promising direction outlined by Madonna’s latest works.” PLAY magazine also noted the complete mixture of styles on the debut album: soul, reggae, funk, traditional “pop” pop." Varvara described the debut album’s style as “Euro-pop with alternative instruments" However, Intermedia considered the disc unsuccessful due to the lack of hit material. The song “Butterfly” becomes the most notable song on the record. The track of the same name “Varvara”, meanwhile, reaches the 4th position on the chart of the Russian radio station “Europe plus”. Work on the second album began in July at the Brothers Grimm studio [ ] . The composition “Heart, don’t cry” was recorded; the video and song were aired in September [ ] .

Since 2002, she began giving concerts with the musician brothers Vadim and Evgeniy Vinkenshtern, who continue to work in the singer’s team today; they also took part in the recording of several of the singer’s videos. In the winter of 2002, Varvara received an offer from the founder of the Swedish studio Cosmos Norn Bjorn to record several compositions with symphony orchestra in Sweden. The first song recorded in collaboration with the Swedes was the song “It’s Behind”, in the style of modern R&B [ ] . Varvara decided to continue recording the remaining songs for the future album in Russia. In February, on the air of “Our Radio” in the program “Do you need it?” The song "I'm Alive" started. Despite the lack of format, the song received 30% of listeners' sympathy. In June, radio stations premiered the single “One-on-one”, the video for which was shot based on the story by Ray Bradbury “All Summer in One Day” [ ] . The video was released in September. The composition became a notable radio hit and entered many country charts, including the Golden Gramophone. On November 30, 2002, Varvara with the song “Od-na” first became a debutant at the television festival “Song of the Year”.

In March 2003, Varvara signed a contract with the company Ars-Records, which releases the second studio album singers - “Closer”, designed in the style of pop rock. The album was released on April 3. The album received wide support from the Europe Plus radio station; five songs from the disc were played on the radio. As Intermedia critics later noted, this is the merit of the “European sound” in most of her works, which Varvara was almost the first to achieve at that stage of development of the Russian music industry. Most of the compositions were recorded at the Brothers Grimm studio; working with young authors A. A" Kim, J. Moss and Vladimir Molchanov, Varvara managed to achieve the desired sound, according to the singer. In support of the long play, a single was released, as well as a video, “ “Closer.” The song is successfully rotated on Russian radio, reaching number 29 in the “Europe Plus” chart. The video was directed by Gosha Toidze. The album received a large number of positive reviews from critics, who compared it to Madonna’s extreme works [ ] and some T.A.T.u. stuff. . The Gazeta.ru website called the disc “one of the brightest pop events of the season,” and the Map of Music website noted that the sound received “new shades and motives, and the poems took on a new, pleasant form.” “Intelligent alternative Euro-pop in the spirit of Madonna and Garbage,” they said about Varvara’s music in “S M”. The album was awarded the Silver Disc Award for Best Pop Vocal Album [ ] . Varvara herself said that “the second album [is] really closer to [her] than the first. Closer means I’ve already gone halfway in my search for the perfect sound, the perfect word and the perfect method of communicating with the public. But the closer I get to my ideal, the more difficult it becomes.”

On May 15-18, the singer represented Russia at the Days of Russian Culture in Paris. During the festival, the singer gave concerts twice: in a castle on the banks of the Loire and in a local club. In the same year, the artist began working on her third studio album. The first song from the upcoming album was the composition “Dreams,” which marked the beginning of a new, ethnic direction in the singer’s music. The melody of the track contains the sounds of Finno-Ugric and Karelian drums. In September, a video was shot for this composition [ ], on the island of Valaam - for the first time in history. The director was Gosha Toidze. Filming took place in difficult weather conditions for several days. But it was thanks to the video, which appeared on all music TV channels, that the song reached listeners and gradually became a hit even without widespread radio support, because many radio stations boycotted the track due to its “non-format.” In November, the premiere of the clip took place on the “Morning Mail” program of the “Russia” channel. Earlier, in October, the singer conducted a promotional tour in support of the album “Closer” in the cities of the Urals, Siberia and Ukraine. In mid-October, on the Rossiya channel, Varvara presented a new song for the first time at the “RTR Gathers Friends” concert. Of course, a lot depends on the woman, but a strong marriage is the merit of both. He can't stay on one person. And the most important thing is still love. A family becomes stronger over the years if you approach it correctly and take care of it. “She should come first,” he shares. singer Varvara. - Work is important, but I never put it above family. There is such a wonderful idea in the Torah: a person juggles balls all his life. Each one represents a certain area of his life: friends, work, family. They can fall, get lost, or be replaced with new ones. But one of these balls cannot be dropped and lost, because it is glass. And this is family. If you treat it this way, understanding that what is broken cannot be repaired, you will appreciate and cherish it. We have two unspoken rules in our family: don’t get personal and leave work problems outside the door. It is also important to remember that in relationships there are no trifles. We need to be more attentive to each other, more tolerant, and take time. Even if work takes a lot of time, you need to build a schedule correctly - you can always make sure you find time for those closest to you.

ABOUT Health: Varvara, do you believe that a woman is the center of the family? And it depends on her and her energy whether a man leaves or lives nearby until old age, don’t you agree?

Varvara: Wisdom is important in a woman. Somewhere to remain silent, restrain yourself, give your partner the opportunity to speak out. You can resort to feminine cunning - agree, and then do it your way. It is important to maintain harmony in the family, and it is harmony that depends on the woman. She can always build a situation so that everyone feels good. Situations are different, and it is important to control yourself and your speech. Emotions will go away, but words can cause irreparable harm. If the situation becomes tense, it is better to go to different corners for a while. Common interests are no less important. My husband and I are similar. We both love nature very much. We have a house in the forest, on the shore of a lake, and we spend time there with great pleasure. We fish, go ice skating and skiing in winter. We have our own small eco-farm there. We grow our own vegetables and fruits, and we also have our own livestock - cows, chickens. We built special feeders for wild animals.

- Has there ever been such a thing in your life that, in a fit of emotion, you thought about breaking up?

No, it wasn't. We both are of the opinion that we cannot disagree. You can survive anything, any problem. Unfortunately, now many people actually break up at the first difficulties. This is wrong. Things don’t always go smoothly in a family, but that’s not a reason to quit or leave. You need to fight for your family, approach acute situations wisely and resolve them. This only strengthens and makes the relationship even stronger.

“A woman should love herself!”

- Varvara, your husband proposed to you twice, 13 years apart. And some girls, even after a long relationship, cannot wait for one time. What do you think a woman should be like to follow your example?

Not an easy question. Everyone is different. But in any case, a woman must be a woman both externally and internally. This is probably the main thing. And then you will definitely meet exactly the man who will not be afraid of family, who will not be afraid of responsibility. But the woman herself should want this, take time for herself, be in harmony with herself. Men feel and see this very well. If a woman accepts herself and loves herself, then she is calm, her eyes glow. She is happy, which means the man will be happy next to her.

My husband and I remarried. When our eldest son Yaroslav got married, we were overwhelmed with emotions and felt a romantic mood. And the husband proposed getting married again. At first I took it all as a joke, but after a couple of weeks we were on Samui, where we held a traditional wedding ceremony. Daughter Varya was our witness. I believe that it is useful to create such romantic events - it brings new emotions, a romantic twist to the relationship.

- Today, when you raised four children and went through so much together, does romance still exist in your relationship?

Undoubtedly! Love must be constantly maintained. Romance is very important. And these are more little things than big actions. At the beginning we had them too, and at that time it was necessary. Now we are already so close that we are simply intertwined into one whole. Even cute little things make you happy. For example, in the morning my husband places our toothbrushes so that they face each other. It would seem that this is something, but it evokes indescribable emotions.

- How can you hint to a man who believes that a wife does not need to be won over and over again that he is wrong?

It seems to me that there is no need to prove anything. You just have to be a woman and let a man be a man. You definitely can’t force a person. If women's tricks do not help, then you need to try to accept him for who he is. It is everyone’s choice - what kind of man is next to her and what kind of relationship they have. I can’t give exact advice, it simply doesn’t exist. You need to listen to yourself, that's all.

But I believe that we should not take each other for granted. Relationships require some sacrifices, attention, actions. And they need to be constantly supported. Both a woman and a man should feel loved, that they are needed, that they are valued. And this can only be done through actions.

"Diets are harmful"

- Varvara, you will soon begin a tour, which will change your usual routine. Is it more difficult to take care of yourself on tour than at home?

Undoubtedly. But touring keeps me in good shape. For example, I lose weight on tour, because before the concert I don’t eat for several hours, and after 19.00 I don’t have dinner. The hardest thing is lack of sleep. I go to bed early, but on tour I have to get up earlier than usual.

- You love yoga. Are these the only activities you use to keep in shape?

I spend a lot of time on physical activity. I constantly keep my muscles toned. Stretching, treadmill, in winter we go skiing 10-12 km. This is not only health, but also energy and good mood.

- You recently said that in a short period of time you can lose 1-2 kg by arranging fasting days. What do you allow yourself on days like these?

As a rule, on a fasting day I eat only one dish - that’s the whole point. For example, I like buckwheat. Some people are comfortable with kefir fasting days and vegetable fasting days. I don’t like diets and think they are harmful. And such days are safe and healthy. The body is cleansed and excess is removed. But you shouldn’t be overzealous with this either. I arrange them as needed. And no more than one day a week.

- Is there harmful products that you can't resist?

Probably not. I can honestly say that I love everything, but I limit myself. To look good, you need to watch your diet. That's why fried potatoes, there are no buns or even bread on my table. I even try not to eat meat, I prefer fish. I can control myself, and I have no problems with the fact that it is difficult for me to control myself. Eating is a habit. As you train your body, so it will be. I feel comfortable following proper nutrition- low-fat, natural products, I try to do without salt. I’m already used to it, and my body is grateful to me.

- You often talk about a lack of vitamin D, but how do you replenish it?

I love fish and cook it with pleasure. Vitamin D is found in salmon and other fatty fish. And of course, the sun! Soon the whole family will go on vacation and recharge with solar energy.

- Do you give yourself a rest after frequent concerts/tours? What do you do to completely relax?

Yes, after touring I need a reboot. As a rule, I go out into nature - to our house. I quickly gain energy there. Artists give it away a lot during concerts, and after long tours, recharge is simply necessary. Nature inspires me, where I quickly replenish my strength.

By the age of forty, the singer had achieved a lot - she received a serious music education, graduated from GITIS in absentia, gained popularity, and created a strong family. True, she did not succeed in arranging her personal life the first time. Who was the first husband of Alena Tutanova (the singer’s real name) is unknown - she did not live with him for long, however, she managed to give birth to a son. This happened during her student years, when Varvara studied at the Music College named after. Gnesins. After the birth of her son, she continued to study and work hard.

Second husband of Varvara (singer) entrepreneur, first vice president of MTS company Mikhail Susov sincerely rejoices at the success of his wife and helps her in developing her career. The singer's husband is very busy man, he is demanding not only at work, but also at home - it is important for him that the house is always in order, a delicious dinner awaits him, and everything around him radiates only positivity.

Singer Varvara also has her own business, but she and her husband try not to bring work problems home. They met in 1999 during a cruise on the Volga. They got married a year after they met, and a year later their daughter Varya was born. The singer’s family now has four children - her son, the sons of Varvara’s (singer) husband from his first marriage and their common daughter. All the children quickly became friends and get along well with each other. Now the children of the singer Varvara’s husband and her son are already adults - two are studying to become economists, and one has already graduated from Moscow State University, receiving a degree in political science.

During her career, singer Varvara managed to work not only on the Russian stage - she sang in restaurants, worked with a variety show in the United Arab Emirates, performing there in various clubs, where she learned Arabic and even performed songs in it. Returning to Moscow, Varvara entered the Lev Leshchenko Musical Agency pop theater, and from that time on a completely different life began for her. When she decided to start a solo career, Lev Valeryanovich reacted favorably to this, and when Varvara was already performing on her own, she continued to work in his team for some time.

Childhood period

Lena didn't like school, educational institution she was attracted to the dance club and physical education classes. Her parents forced her to do her homework and improve her knowledge. And her fate was determined by the old accordion that her grandfather gave her. She was enrolled in a music school to develop the girl's musical abilities.

Family

The singer lives in a happy family; she has four children. At a young age she already got married, but the marriage was unsuccessful. The second marriage with businessman Mikhail Susov, on the contrary, is very successful. Mikhail turned out to be the man of her dreams and became her support in life and in her work.

The next step was to study at the Gnessin School, where she was taught by Matvey Osherovsky, who is the director of the famous production in Odessa - “The Threepenny Opera”. Osherovsky was a rather eccentric person: he threw shoes at her and kicked the artist out more than once. Although Elena did not get into operetta of her own free will - she wanted to create without directors and producers, she wanted freedom. Later, when she worked at the Leshchenko Variety Theater, she graduated from GITIS with a degree in artist musical theater"(in absentia). And when she left the theater, she began a solo career.

From the summer of 1991 to the present day, Varvara has been working in State Theater, she is the lead vocalist. Besides this, she is artistic director And general director its production center, which is called “Art Center “Varvara”.

After a year of work, in 2001, Elena, together with the company “NOX Music”, released her debut album, which was called “Varvara”.

Although the songs from the album were “in format”, they still did not enjoy success among listeners. Only a few songs from the album were played on the radio: “Varvara”, “On the Edge”, “Butterfly”, “Fly to the Light”.

In 2002, the singer received an unexpected offer. Norm Bjorn, who is the founder of the famous Swedish studio, invited Varvara to record several compositions together with the Swedish Symphony Orchestra. This collaboration ended with the release of the song “It’s Behind”, the style of the composition was then fashionable r’n’b. The singer decides to record the remaining songs for the second album in Russia.

According to Varvara, her main passion is music videos. She says that she always dreamed of singing and filming videos for these songs, because in them she would be able to show herself as a real actress.

In March 2003, Varvara’s second album, entitled “Closer,” was released; this record was released by the Ars-Records company. The recording of the songs was carried out at the Brothers Grimm studio - the arrangements and sound of this studio were most suitable for the singer’s ideas.

If we talk about the last four years, Varvara has released four solo albums. The records contain compositions that audiences know the most different countries. Over the past ten years, various music festivals, tours, and charity concerts many times invited the singer to participate in events. Many times Varvara organized holiday concerts and even represented Russian musical art abroad.

In 2005, Varvara at the National Selection International competition Eurovision became a finalist. At the same time, she won first place in the voting for the right to represent Russia at the celebration of the anniversary Eurovision in Denmark, which was to be held for the 50th time. Voting was carried out on the Internet by the International Club OGAE.

Varvara Vizbor is a Russian singer, granddaughter of the sixties bard Yuri Vizbor. Favorite genres- jazz and lounge, but she also likes to remake her grandfather's songs, adding personality and a new sound to them. Together with rapper L’One, she recorded the song “Echo of Love” from the soundtrack to the second season of the TV series “Chernobyl. Exclusion zone."

Childhood and adolescence

A native Muscovite, Varvara Sergeevna Vizbor was born on February 18, 1986 into a creative, intelligent family. Varvara’s grandfather is the famous poet-bard Yuri Vizbor, her grandmother is the talented poet and writer Ariadna Yakusheva.

Unfortunately, the girl was born a year after her grandfather’s death, but she became acquainted with his work in early childhood. His parents bought a collection disc containing his song “Night Road,” which sank into Varya’s soul from the first chords. How surprised she was when her mother told her that this was her grandfather’s song!

I was very surprised, because in our family there was no cult of grandfather - for us it was an ordinary person, father and grandfather, family member.

Since childhood, the girl was surrounded by a creative atmosphere, which could not but influence her worldview and future destiny. Representatives of the capital's bohemians often gathered in the house, sang, played music, read poetry and staged impromptu performances. Her parents instilled in her a kind attitude towards people and the ability to communicate freely with the most different people, and from her grandmother Varya inherited a sense of humor and an optimistic attitude towards life.

The girl’s parents, Tatyana Vizbor and Sergei Lobikov, also people of creative professions, immediately recognized their daughter’s artistic and musical abilities and took her to theater studio. Having become a first-grader, Varvara enrolled in the school choir “Red Carnation”, in which she sang until graduation.

She studied at an intermediate level and preferred to spend her free time not with textbooks, but at choir rehearsals or in children's theater. With his brother Yuri, they often organized home concerts: Yura played, and Varya performed songs from the repertoire of her beloved Alla Pugacheva. The girl also practiced drawing and macrame.

After graduating from school, Varya tried to enter VGIK, but did not pass the competition. Failure did not dampen the ardor of the ambitious girl, and on the advice of Alexei Batalov, a year later she submitted documents to the Shchukin School. This time her efforts were rewarded: Varvara became a student at a prestigious theater university, which she successfully graduated in 2007.

Career

At first she wanted to get into teaching and entered the master's program, but soon she got bored with the stage and the audience and got a job at the Shkola theater modern play».

The atmosphere at the School of Contemporary Play was depressing to me. I had to somehow declare myself, become punchy, resourceful... But they say that I am like my grandfather in character, but he was neither punchy nor resourceful.

After serving there for two years, Vizbor moved to the Moscow Theater of Miniatures (Theatrium on Serpukhovka), where she was finally able to fully realize herself as an actress. But there was still an inner feeling of dissatisfaction, which disappeared when she took the microphone and began to sing. Varvara intuitively felt that being a singer was her true calling, and since 2013 she decided to devote herself entirely to her singing career.

While still a student, she began performing in clubs, where she met talented jazz musicians Sergei Khutas and Evgeniy Borets. Soon the guys organized their own group “Vizbor V.S. Khutas”, which lasted five years. The group's repertoire consisted of original arrangements, intricately combining elements of jazz, blues, traditional Russian motifs and sacred music.

Varvarva Vizbor and The Voice Show

She chose one of Yuri Vizbor’s songs, “Winter,” to perform at the “blind auditions” in the fourth season of the show “The Voice” (2015). Oddly enough, despite the soulful performance and impeccable vocals, none of the four mentors turned to her. Polina Gagarina admitted that she wanted to turn around, but the song “somehow ended quickly.” “Very nice, but there’s only one song, what happens next? What else you can show us is unclear,” said Alexander Gradsky. Basta and Grigory Leps also remained indifferent to Varvara’s performance.

The girl was upset, to put it mildly. But unexpectedly she received support from Voice viewers from different parts of the country. The situation that developed during the blind auditions caused bewilderment and dissatisfaction, because the audience was completely delighted with Varvara’s performance. The singer took the failure seriously, however, the love and support of fans of her talent, the number of which increased sharply after participating in “The Voice,” gave the artist the strength to believe in herself again.

Personal life of Varvara Vizbor

Varvara carefully protects her personal space and hides information about her private life. It is known that she is happily married to her beloved man, whom she sees as the father of her future children.
