We draw dinosaurs. How to draw a dinosaur step by step with gouache (Master class for children) Learning to draw a dinosaur for children

Drawing dinosaurs is very easy if you know where to start. First, use a pencil to draw several circles or ovals for each part of the dinosaur's body. Then connect them with an outer contour. Erase the circles and ovals so that you are left with a drawing of a dinosaur that you can then color. Once you've learned how to draw the four dinosaurs below, try changing their shapes to give them different poses. Finally, try using circles and ovals to draw other types of dinosaurs!

Steps

Stegosaurus

To begin, draw horizontal ovals for the head and body. Draw a small oval or circle - this will be the head of the stegosaurus. Move a little to the right and draw a much larger oval for the torso. At the same time, leave enough space for the neck: the distance between the head and torso should correspond to the size of the first circle.

Add one slanted oval inside the body for the hind leg. Before you start adding the paws, draw a slanted oval inside the large oval. Place it so that the top end is on the right and the bottom on the left. This oval will later turn into the hind limb of the stegosaurus, so place it near the right edge of the body.

Draw 4 small ovals under the body - these will be the front and hind legs. Draw 2 ovals near the left (front) and 2 ovals near the right (back) edge of the body. Draw these ovals so that their long axis is vertical. To make it appear that the stegosaurus is walking, tilt the two middle ovals (these will be the left legs) towards each other. Tilt the leftmost and rightmost oval away from each other - these will be the right paws.

To represent the feet, draw 4 small ovals under the paws. Draw one vertical oval under the front paw. It should intersect slightly with the paw - at the intersection there will be a “knee”. Then draw 2 horizontal ovals under the middle two paws to resemble feet that are on the ground. Finally, add another slanted oval - this will be the back foot.

    • You may need to add a small oval or rectangle to connect the top of the second leg to the foot. Angle it forward slightly so that it resembles a joint.
    • Angle the back oval so it looks like the front edge of your foot is touching the ground.
    • These 4 ovals may be smaller than those representing the paws.
  1. Draw lines from the body to indicate the neck and tail. Connect the head to the body with two curved lines. For the top of the neck, draw a curved line with raised edges and a lowered middle. Mark the lower edge of the neck with a slightly curved line that connects the middle of the head to the base of the body. Next, draw a long, thin triangle coming out from the back of the body. This will be the tail.

Draw a row of plates along the stegosaurus's back. To begin, draw several straight lines that are directed upward from the back. Make the lines on the neck and tail a little shorter and thicker than those in the middle of the back. Then draw a plate around each line. The plates should be pentagonal with a triangle at the top and two converging lines that connect the triangle to the body.

    • Angle the lines so that the plates move slightly apart.
    • If desired, you can add a second row of plates behind the first. Represent them as smaller triangles peeking out from the top edges of the front row of plates.
    • If you're doing digital art, create a separate layer for the plates.
  2. Connect the ovals to complete the outline of the stegosaurus. Once you have drawn all the ovals and plates, you can finally draw in the outline of the dinosaur's body and legs. Outline the head, neck, torso and tail with one continuous line. Draw this line up over the stegosaurus's back, around its tail, under its belly, and around its head and neck. After this, circle the left one with another line and right side each paw and mark the toes on each foot with small curved lines.

    • If you are working digitally, draw this line in the same layer that you made the plates on the back.
  3. Erase all the ovals so that the outer outline remains. Carefully erase the original ovals. At the same time, leave the outlines of the torso, legs and dorsal plates.

  4. Color the stegosaurus. Use colored pencils, markers or crayons for this. Color the dinosaur the way you like. For contrast, you can use different colors for the lower abdomen and dorsal plates.

    • Look at dinosaur books to get ideas on how to color a stegosaurus.
  5. Draw 3 triangles for the lower legs and tail. At the bottom of the oval for the body, draw a thin triangle for the tail. It should reach the very end of the back line. Add one slightly wider triangle to each side of the tail. Draw the feet: add 4 straight lines to the end of each paw and then connect them with curved lines to indicate the webbed area.

    • Angle the paws slightly outward so that the pterodactyl appears to be flying.
  6. Draw shapes on the sides in the form of the Latin letter “V” - these will be the wings. Draw a line to the side and slightly down from the end of the line you used for the front legs. Its length should be approximately the same as the paw lines. After this, connect the end of the wing with the ankles with a second line. Bend these lines slightly to give the wing a more natural shape.

    • Draw the bottom of the wings - draw a curved line between each ankle and the tail.
    • To more clearly define the front legs, draw another line under the one you already drew. This way you will give the paws thickness. After this, draw some small ovals to represent the ends of the paws and toes.
    • To get the correct proportions, make each wing about the same width as the total length of the body and beak.
  7. Complete your sketch. Outline the wings, body, legs and head to create the outline of a pterodactyl. Draw one line around the head, crest and beak to connect them. Similarly, use one line for both sides of the body and legs.

    • Place several dots on the face and beak - these will be the eyes and nostrils of the pterodactyl.
  8. Erase the guide lines and color the pterodactyl. Finally, remove the original ovals and cross-shaped lines that you used to indicate the back and wings, and leave only the outer outline. Color the drawing and add texture using colored pencils, markers, and crayons.

    • If desired, you can paint the body and wings in different colors.

Dinosaurs are land animals that lived on our planet 150 million years ago. Legends and incredible stories still circulate around them, making people increasingly interested in the origin of this species. Drawing an animal, conveying and preserving its original appearance is an amazing thing, our article will help you with this!

1) How to draw an adult dinosaur

  • First of all, let’s draw the “frame” of the animal – the circle means the main part of the head, and the oval the body of the dinosaur.
  • Also schematically draw straight lines where the legs are and a long tail that serves as the animal’s rudder in the air.
  • Now you can safely attach the frame. As we know, the skin of a dinosaur is dense, not smooth, draw all the lines as in the picture, maintaining the most natural appearance. We draw the jaw wide open, with irregularities for future fangs.
  • Draw the tail with smooth lines, draw predatory paws with sharp nails and mark them with a pattern of rough scales.
  • Remove the auxiliary lines and decorate the animal's head with an eye with a large eyelid that goes downwards.

  • We begin to design the body - the amphibian’s chest and belly are massive, allocate enough space for it.
  • From the hind leg, mark the muscles, curves, and skin pattern. Separate the muzzle from the neck with uneven lines, you don’t have to draw it here, the more careless it is, the more realistic it will look.

  • Give your dinosaur some sharp teeth, remembering that the incisors are the largest at the back.
  • Using small strokes, depict multiple folds on the animal’s body. Our drawing is ready!

  • We decided to color it, and this is what we came up with!

How to draw a little dinosaur

Children 4-5 years old are interested in studying with their parents, learning and learning new things. Draw a fabulous dinosaur with your child, talking about the history of the mysterious animal during class.

  • The child can easily draw the base of the dinosaur, consisting of a circle with an oval, by connecting the head and body with a smooth chest and we get half the picture.
  • Mark the muzzle with soft lines.
  • Using a girdle wreath, draw the young horns of a growing animal, a curious eye and a line of a face with nostrils.
  • Connect the neck and torso with a solid wavy line, draw a peeking paw with folds.

  • Draw a powerful hind leg with the belly hanging from under it.
  • Draw the supporting hind leg and elongated tail. Remove the extra lines and outline the muscles.
  • Our fairy tale hero ready! Let your child paint the dragon using the palette of their choice.

Good afternoon dear friends! Today the story will be about!

These interesting creatures lived 225 million years ago, but they still make films about them, invent stories and draw with pencils. This is the kind of lizard we will try to draw:

How to draw a dinosaur with a pencil:

Before starting, I suggest you relax a little and watch a video on the topic of prehistoric animals. Surely, you have upholstered furniture at home. Lie on it for a while, dream, brew some delicious tea.

Very important ! And we can start...

First step. Start by setting up the frame. We make one circle to indicate the head and on it two lines that indicate the mouth of the dinosaur. Just below we draw a large circle and connect it with the previous one. This will be the torso. From there down we will make two lines for the legs and one for the tail.

Step two. Here we draw the body of our lizard. The head looks like a crocodile.

Step three. Let's move on to detail. On the head we will draw nostrils and eyes. The dinosaur's forelimbs are shorter than its hind limbs and much smaller in size.

Step four. All that remains is to remove the auxiliary lines using an eraser and add some elements: two rows of teeth, claws on the front and hind legs and lines along the body.

This is the dino I got:

I also colored it with pencils and pastels:

My friends gave me this for my birthday soft pastel OLKI. Thank you friends!

On this happy note, I think I’ll end the story. . And give us ideas, what else can you draw with pencils?

How to draw a dinosaur?

Dinosaurs are a fascinating topic for both adults and children. Everything is here: mystery, fear, uncertainty, and exoticism. What is the cost of one colossal period of time that separates our human time from the era when the earth bore these giants (and dwarfs too, not all of them were so huge). Moreover, they were not “beasts” in our usual understanding, but “lizards,” reptiles - relatives of lizards and crocodiles rather than elephants and whales. Yes, all this is not very simple. And today we are drawing a dinosaur. Which one exactly? - after all, there are so many of them in the encyclopedia... Our eyes run wide from these countless names, let us tell you. Allosaurus, Apatosaurus, Oviraptor... Yes, of course, everyone separate species in the picture has its own individual features - one has a growth on its forehead, the other has front legs shorter than the back ones. But in general there are only a few dominant forms, no more than seven.

Here we have diplodocus - a tempting subject for a picture. Without an encyclopedia, who can remember what Diplodocus looked like? A barrel-shaped body, columnar legs of approximately the same length, a long tail, an equally long neck, a tiny head with a stupid grin and small eyes. By the way, why does he have such a tail and neck? Neck like a giraffe: to get leaves from the treetops. Tail for balance and balance. By the way, Diplodocus did not shine with intelligence, and we must say thank you to nature if its brain, which fit in the skull a little larger than a horse’s, exceeded the size of a cat’s! It’s not for nothing that these barrels on legs were swept off the face of the Earth as useless! Okay, let's try to draw Diplodocus on an A4 sheet of paper.

draw a dinosaur

I had to twist my neck back, my tail like a pretzel forward. It’s hard to believe that the lizard had no other occupation than to look at its back. No, it’s not realistic, and the dinosaur isn’t very interesting, it’s just big and massive, and there’s no particular charm. Looking in the encyclopedia, we will find several more similar mountain-like dinosaurs - Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, in general, sauropods, you understand.

To be honest, these giants should be drawn in full length, for example, with chalk on the asphalt somewhere in a city square. Let's look for someone more interesting...

Well, in the encyclopedia we found a wonderful specimen with the fanciful name “parasaurolophus”. Its appearance matches its name: hooves on the hind legs, while on the front legs there are membranes between the toes, on the head there is a huge protrusion that sticks out back. Most likely, it served as a loudspeaker for the lizard. Representatives of this species reached 12 meters in length; they ate, as it is written in the book, conifer needles. How to draw such an exotic dinosaur? Of course, since it is erect, we will place the leaf vertically. Next, what is its main feature? Please note that the lizard's pelvis is many times more powerful and wider than its shoulders.

From the pelvis, the body tapers conically upward to the shoulders with relatively small front legs, somewhat reminiscent of human arms, the neck is long and characteristically bent, a large head with a huge horn-like outgrowth.

It is always interesting to look into the past and see what our planet looked like millions of years ago, when huge dinosaurs lived, brontosaurs flew in the sky, pterodactyls flew and plants were taller than a multi-story building. But you can only see dinosaurs in a movie or in a museum, and then only the skeleton of a dinosaur. But you can always draw a dinosaur in your imagination, creating drawings of dinosaurs and landscapes of the Jurassic period and seem to plunge into the world of giant reptiles.
How to draw a dinosaur if no one has ever seen it? Of course, only based on your imagination and drawings of scientists recreating different types dinosaurs that lived on our planet. To make it easier to draw a dinosaur, it is best to do the drawing in stages, first with a simple pencil, and then color the picture with a dinosaur with colored pencils or paints.
Draw the landscape and other animals next to the dinosaur. Then your drawing of a dinosaur will be like a frozen frame from the past and will attract the viewer’s attention. Let's try it together draw a dinosaur.

1. First drawing steps

Start your dinosaur drawing with an oval outline for the body and two small circles for the head and ear. To make these initial outlines at least somewhat resemble a dinosaur, draw a small tail at the back.

2. Draw dinosaur legs

First draw three circles for the lower part of the oval (torso). The distance between them is approximately the same. These will serve as a guide for you to create the initial outlines of the dinosaur's legs. Now you can draw the legs based on my drawing.

3. Draw the contours of the head and tail

It’s not at all difficult to draw a dinosaur’s tail looking at my drawing. It will be a little more difficult to figure out how to draw the outline of the head, but this is only at first glance. Look closely, you only need to add four lines. And after you remove the now extra contours, the dinosaur will “get” a head instead of circles.

4. Detailing the drawing

Starting from this stage, drawing a dinosaur will be quite simple. First, remove all unnecessary contour lines. Remove carefully so as not to touch the “working” lines of the dinosaur drawing. Not all dinosaurs had horns, but in my drawing there is a dinosaur with horns. I think drawing horns is not a problem, and also adding a few more details to the dinosaur’s head.

5. Draw the dinosaur skin in detail

At this stage, you need to draw the skin of the dinosaur in detail, add claws on the legs, and draw the pupil of the eye. On the back, along the ridge, this dinosaur has a horny growth, draw a parallel line along the back and break it up with strokes. The skin has many folds, especially at the base of the legs. You don’t have to draw them, but to make the dinosaur drawing more realistic, it is advisable to do them.

6. How to draw a dinosaur. The final stage

At this stage, you should add shadows to the dinosaur drawing to make it more voluminous. Dinosaur drawing can be colored with colored pencils. But no one knows what color his fur and skin were, decide for yourself. You definitely need to draw a dinosaur against the backdrop of the Jurassic period landscape. In perspective, draw several figures of other animals, flying pterodactyls in the sky and, of course, the lush vegetation of that era. Just don’t make the background too bright and catchy, so as not to distract the viewer’s attention from the main character of your picture - the dinosaur.

The hippopotamus drawing was made on a tablet in stages. but nevertheless, this lesson can also be used for drawing with a simple pencil.

A drawing of a king cobra made on a graphics tablet can be a good picture to decorate your computer desktop.

The crocodile is one of the few animals whose ancestors lived during the era of dinosaurs. In this picture, the crocodile seems to be preparing to jump out of the picture and grab its prey.

Drawing a dragon is certainly as difficult as draw a dinosaur. After all, in fact, a dragon is a symbiosis of a lizard and a bird, and in the drawing of a dragon it is necessary to reflect the plasticity of these two creatures.

The turtle, like the dinosaur, is a very ancient animal that has retained almost the same appearance as it had millions of years ago. Only the dinosaurs disappeared, but she still lives. In this lesson we will try to draw a turtle ourselves step by step.

Few people like an insect as dangerous to humans as the scorpion, but many people like to draw predatory and dangerous animals. I suggest you draw them step by step.
